I have been invited to give a lecture at the University of Brasília, Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAUUNB), on August 28, 2024. I will be discussing my experience with green and blue networks and the transformation of cities towards active mobility.
By showcasing three large-scale projects I have worked on in recent years, I’ll try to demonstrate how these interventions are transforming urban landscapes in times that demand exponential change.
The Eco District Coronmeuse is a classic example of public/private collaboration to convert an old industrial site into a new urban ecodistrict. “Desealing Brussels” illustrates how well-thought-out small-scale interventions can have a significant impact in a short period. “Lisboa Horizontal” showcases how one idea can dismantle old mental patterns and influence a city’s mobility policy in the short term.
